Privacy Policy
In placing an order you entrust us with your name, your address, your telephone number and, in many cases, your measurements. This policy sets out what is done with that information and what you may ask of us in respect of it.
In short: we retain what is required to make your garment and deliver it, we do not sell it, and you may at any time ask to see what we hold, to have it corrected, or to have it removed.
Information You Would Rather Not Provide
Certain information is essential — an address for delivery, measurements for cutting. Beyond that, we are glad to work with whatever a client is comfortable providing.
Accounts and Age
Accounts and orders on this website are for those aged eighteen and over. This concerns personal information rather than who our garments are for: we dress women and girls of every age, and a parent or guardian is welcome to order on behalf of someone younger. We ask only that the account and the order stand in an adult's name, as Indian law requires a guardian's consent before a child's personal information is collected.
Where you believe we hold information relating to a child, please write to info@modocaldo.in and it will be removed.
What We Collect
When an order is placed or an enquiry made: name, email address, telephone number, delivery and billing address, and where relevant, measurements. Correspondence is retained so that any member of the team picking it up is fully informed.
Card details are not seen by us at any point. Payments are handled by a payment provider, and the card number does not reach Modo Caldo.
On visiting the site, ordinary technical information is collected automatically: device and browser, IP address, pages viewed, and referring source.
How It Is Used
To make and deliver your order. To respond properly to correspondence. To operate and secure the website. To send news of the house where this has been requested. And to meet the obligations of a registered business.
Who Else Has Access
Only those who require it in order to perform their part: our payment provider, our courier partners, the platform on which this shop operates, and the tools used for client correspondence. Each has access only to what its function requires.
Information may also be disclosed where required by law. Were the business to be sold, client information would pass to the acquiring party under this same policy.
Advertising, and the Meaning of "Sharing"
We have never sold a client list and will not do so. As with most online shops, we use Meta and Google to understand how clients find us and to present our collections to those who may be interested. Under certain privacy laws, permitting these tools to operate is described in law as "sharing" your information. No money changes hands, and no information about you is passed on as a list.
Security
The site operates over a secure connection, and access to client information is restricted to those who require it. No system is without risk, and we would not claim otherwise; were a matter to arise, you would be informed by us.
Your Rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask to see the information we hold, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to raise a grievance, or to nominate another person to act on your behalf. Please write to info@modocaldo.in. Verification of identity may be requested, which exists for your protection.
Retention
Information is retained for as long as it is required: to make and deliver an order, to alter a garment in later years, and to satisfy tax and accounting obligations.
