“Nature has always been my biggest inspiration. I can sit by a river or at the beach for hours and never feel bored. I notice the way light changes, the colors around me, a butterfly taking flight, leaves moving in the wind or the way people interact with each other. I think my inspiration is really my everyday life. I observe everything around me, and those observations slowly find their way into what I create.”
How She Works
Trained in Textile Design at Pearl Academy, New Delhi, Jigyasa approaches fashion with the curiosity of an artist and the precision of a designer. She finds inspiration in her surroundings, but she is equally interested in understanding the world through materials, construction and the human body. Her work begins with observation — looking closely, questioning why something works and finding beauty in details that are often overlooked.
“I am extremely sensitive to what I wear and what touches my skin. A bad fabric can make me uncomfortable, a bad fit can stay on my mind all day, and I cannot wear imitation jewelry. These experiences have made me very particular about quality and comfort. I also try to be conscious about what I consume in everyday life and avoid unnecessary plastic wherever I can. Modo Caldo is an extension of these beliefs. It has to reflect the way I want to live — thoughtfully, consciously and without compromising on quality.”
What It Becomes
This sensitivity has become part of Modo Caldo’s design language. From fabric selection and pattern development to the construction of corsets and the smallest finishing detail, Jigyasa brings a high level of attention to how a garment looks, feels and functions on the body. Her approach is rooted in the belief that good fashion should not ask the wearer to tolerate discomfort for the sake of beauty.
What She Is Building
Modo Caldo is, in many ways, an extension of Jigyasa Jolly herself — her observations, her curiosity, her standards and her constant need to create something better. But the ambition goes far beyond individual garments. She is building a fashion house with its own language, its own approach to craftsmanship and the ambition to create a legacy that can grow for generations. What began with an instinct to observe and create is now becoming a much larger world of fashion, art, craftsmanship and ideas.
